REFLECTIONS
To be honest, I have long known that my diet is not the ideal diet for a person like myself because of my weight being higher than that of the average person. However, I have always ignored this fact and continued to eat as I see fit, whenever I felt even a little hungry. When I did not feel hungry, I would not eat.
This project has really opened my eyes to how lacking my diet really is in many areas- an excess intake of everything except for calcium, which I lack. This is probably the reason behind why I gain so much wait so easily all the time. I realise now that this is a rather dangerous situation and it is time to review my diet and watch what I eat further. After this PT, I do plan to research on ways to improve my calcium intake besides drinking milk, which I do every night. Thanks to this PT, I will rethink my eating habits and perhaps control my urges to eat, having at most one snack a day.
Doing this PT was rather fun and easy for me and I loved designing my blog. However, the tools provided by the Health Promotion Board were rather awkward to use because there were limited food choices and I often had to improvise with them, for example stating that I had had a packet drink instead of a F&N grape soft drink. However, I feel that the tools are generally useful for individuals to review their diets because of its clean-cut interface and interactive choices.
This project was actually an amazingly eye-opening experience for me. After discovering how inadequate my current diet is, I see the need to improve on my eating habits.
